WORDS
Words are cheap. It is used to possibly communicate an individual's intentions. But, words alone with no coinciding action is meaningless. There are countless examples of individuals saying many things but, their words mean absolutely nothing. An individual can tell his wife he loves her but if he has a habit of coming home late from work, his breath smelling like alcohol, and appears like he rather be somewhere else, his words, telling his wife that he loves her mean absolutely nothing. Flip the aforementioned example to a husband who rarely tells his wife that he loves her but he can not wait to get home from work, enjoys her company, if the wife loves flowers he brings her an occasional assembly of flowers. His behavior rather than words, show that he loves his wife. I remember a statement in some article that I read that stated, "when all is said and done, more is always said than done."
Words have no power. Sometimes individuals say mean things but they truly have no power. The illusion of power when I hear some say that words have consequences, really comes from the recipient of the words. Words mean nothing. If someone calls you an idiot and you get angry, then maybe you need to look at yourself to question why you are angry. That person, through his words can not possibly get you angry. You got yourself angry. Maybe, you think you are an idiot and that person calling you an idiot hit a chord. There is no better example than in politics. Politicians are known to say whatever it is they think you want to hear to get elected. Once they get elected they do as little as possible. Subliminally we have been groomed to accept their behavior without even knowing it. I think the reason for this is that politicians have to please a majority of the people to get elected. We are so polarized in American politics that, you have to appeal to the other side to get elected. That is why I think their words mean nothing. Since I see things differently than many, it does not matter what anyone or politicians say because they are not going to have an impact on my life, unless I let them. I am the only person who will have an impact on my life. I am my commander in chief. If you see your life from that perspective, words mean absolutely nothing. And, your life will be less stressful. I leave you with the following poem; titles,"Word Mean Nothing."
"When I am with you
I am short of words
and then I realize
we don't need words to speak
and when I talk to you
I even forgot just what I said."
