FIRE

I was thinking it is appropriate to write an article on fire based on what is currently going on in many cities in the United States with the rioting, looting, fires, leading to loss of life and massive loss of property.  I am not writing to take sides.  I can see why individuals want to assemble and protest.  These are rights imbedded in our constitution.  The First Amendment to the United States Constitution states " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion; or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peacefully to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress..."  I am a true advocate of the right to assemble "peacefully,"  but once it turns to violence, the line has been crossed.  It no longer is about the constitution, it's about the preservation of civilization.
What we all have watched is a breakdown in civilization.  So it begs the question, why is this happening?  To me the answer is clear.  Many have lost their connection to god.  To this almighty power within.  To pure love.  Everyone is to blame.  No one is immune.  We have  heard the adage, "you fight fire with fire."  That is antithetical to peace and love.  By fighting fire with fire you make the fire bigger.  By fighting hate with hate, it seems to me that you are increasing the level of hatred.  Fire will never extinguish a fire. Hate will never evaporate hate.  Fire gets extinguished with water.  Hate gets evaporated with love.  It is akin to having a child do something wrong and when you ask him about it,  he tell you the truth.  Your disappointment is completed reduced.  You get to the point where you almost want to reward him for being honest.  So why is it that adults can not seem to figure out this simple concept?  I would like to think that they are just not enlightened.  I know that there are many possible cynical answers but, I rather stay with the positive perspective.
Ignatius often ended his letters to Jesuits going to the missions with the expression, ite, inflammate omnia.  Meaning, go set the world on fire.  I bet he didn't mean that literally.  If  individuals would believe and allow their internal god which is pure love, peace and prosperity,  to work in their lives, it would create a peaceful, loving world.  And, they would possess infinite possibilities to lead and accomplish whatever it is that they would want.  It is so clear to me and so easy to do.  All you have to do is open your mind.  We know what not being or living an uninspired, loveless life will lead to.  Just turn on the television and look at the current chaos.   I encourage all to be the spark that inspires the fire to lead the masses to enlightenment.  That is every individual's obligation.  That is a call for duty from your soul.  From the god within.  This is a call for duty like no other. There is no other service call as important as this one for civilization.  This my friends is how to change the world for the better.  I leave you with a quote on point.
"I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples."    Mother Teresa
I encourage you to be that stone and create the ripples of positive change.
