Box

Individuals tend to categorize others in boxes.  It is a way to keep distance between us.  It is easy to do this because by doing so it shortens or
eliminates the need to try and get to understand the other person.  It is easy to categorize people in boxes because it does not require much effort.  We categorize people by gender, religion, skin color, creed, sexual orientation, job titles, family, political affiliation, democrat, republican, libertarian, conservative, liberal, neighborhoods they live in etc...  This is human nature.  The irony here is that we are all the same.  Our souls are connected and that does not change.  We all came from the same place.  And, we are all going back to the same place once our stay on earth is over whether you like it or not.
To me, it is somewhat comical when you think about it.  But, maybe that is why it is easy to put people in boxes.  Here is what I mean.  Regardless on when the soul enters the mother's womb during conception or at any other point in the pregnancy, is irrelevant for this discussion.  However, we can all agree that when the infant is out of the womb, it has its own soul.  So metaphorically, the mother's body acts as a box for her baby.  Shortly after birth, after the mother and baby bond, the infant is transferred to some sort of crib similar to a box.  After the baby comes home, it ends up sleeping in another crib looking box.  Actually, at this point, it really is a double box, because the family lives in a residence of some sort which resembles a box.  Then, throughout school, we learn in institutions that look very similar like boxes.  After our education is over, we end up employed in places that look like boxes.  We drive to and from these places in automobiles that look and feel like boxes.  We shop in stores throughout our lives in places that look like boxes.  We work out in places similar to boxes.  We go to movies, theatre, restaurants and socialize in places that sure look like boxes.  And guess what?  When we die, the majority of us get put in at least one box or maybe two boxes if a vault is used. And, I did not even mention my favorite box of all.  The safety deposit box!!
That is why a soul wants to create so much.  That is why we are endowed with the seeds to create and succeed.  Life is about continual growth.  Creation, growth and imagination, leads to freeing the soul of its desires prior to its complete freedom upon death.  Physical death should come but only once in a lifetime.  The individuals who rather take the easy life and do nothing for his fellow man or women are fools.  Julius Caesar said, " cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of  death but once." Many are actually dead but they do not know it.  They are just here and allow life to twirl them around like the wind blowing a leaf on a tree branch in the end of autumn.  The leaf is dead it just doesn't know it until it hits the ground for everyone to step on and eventually disappears from the face of the earth.  There is so much more to life than just living in a box.  I am sure you have heard the phrase, "think outside the box."  And, I'll add, "live outside the box!!"  I leave you with a poem on point titled, "Living in a Box."
Living in a box is rough.  Looking for my next meal is tough.  I do not have a bed to lay.  I only have a place to pray.  Oh mighty god I know you are there.  Why is this life so unfair?  A homeless man I may be.  Lift your wings and set me free.  I do not need finer things in life.  Like a house, a car, a dog, a wife.  I only need one hot meal a day.  Then it's back to my box to kneel and pray.  The sun comes up and it starts again.  Living in a box is tough my friend.
