WORTH
I would like to start this article by asking a question. Is your life worth it? I don't think you need to wait until you're on your death bed to ask that question. In fact, I encourage you to answer that question now. Most individuals are afraid of the unknown. That is why it is common to be scared to leave your comfort zone or make a change. And by change I mean a big change that will make a difference in your life. Not a decision on what protein to eat for dinner tonight. Every single day your mind gives you ideas through the thought process. Some of those ideas can change your life in drastic positive ways. However, most individuals are so caught up in external distractions that they don't even attempt to try. I am sure you have heard individuals say, "I'll believe it when I see it." That is the problem. They are so caught up in only seeing with their eyes that they are clueless in the metaphysical aspect of humanity. I believe, no pun intended, if you believe in what ever you want to accomplish, you will see it materialize. We all have this ability. But, most individuals either don't care or believe in it. Think about it for a moment. If you truly have the power to live how you desire and be as successful and happy as you want to be, then there is no excuse for not living an abundant life. In other words, you can't blame anyone but yourself. Oh Man!! what a problem! You can't blame anyone else for your sad life. Maybe, that is the reason why most individuals ignore this God given inherent ability of the power of the mind. You see, living at the bottom is easy and you will have plenty of company. However, living at the top, well, that is not in most individual's life plan.
Whenever I have focused and made up my mind to do something, regardless of the level of difficulty or perceived difficulty, I have succeeded. Why is that? It certainly is not because I am better than you are. It is not because I have special powers. It is not because I have been destined. It is not because I am the chosen one. I believe it's because I know and believe and expect I can do it and so I do, regardless of the difficulties I may have faced on the road towards my objective. I have heard some describe this desire to succeed as the "it factor." You can describe it however you want to. It really doesn't matter. To me, it is how I view life. I set my goals and I make a commitment to accomplish whatever I set my sights on. I am living proof that it can be done. In fact, I believe it is your obligation to succeed in life. That is why you are here. You are not here to live from hand to mouth or depend on other individuals to support you. You are here to reach a point of self actualization and to lead the way for others to follow. That is my creed. Life is not easy but, so what. Life can be challenging but, so what. Fear can be a dream killer but it's on us personally to attack our fears. I grew up in the NYC government subsidized Fulton housing projects with limited means. I was the one that decided that I wanted to live in a beautiful place one day. I wanted to be a New York City police officer and I did it. This was at a time when the NYPD was mostly Irish and German officers. But, I did not let the naysayers talk me out of it by telling me that I will never be a "cop" because I was a Latino, from the ghetto who's second language was English. I wanted to go to college and I did. I wanted to go to law school and I did. I wanted a great wife and children and I have received that privilege. When I got out of law school, I went to work for a law firm and after 4 years I decided to open my own law practice and I did. I wanted to be a teacher and I did. I wanted to be a speaker and I did. I wanted to publish books and I have. I can go on and on but my point is that if you set your goals and commit to them you are unstoppable. I have chosen not to live a common life. So If you ask me is my life worth it? Unequivocally my answer is an emphatic, YES!! Have I failed at things? Yes but, that did not stop me. Have I fallen at times? Yes, but you can still make progress if you're falling by falling forward. Maybe I got this attitude from my football days as a running back. When I got hit hard and I knew I was going down, I was always stretching forward to gain positive yardage. So answer the question about your life that I posed earlier in this article. Is your life worth it? If you are not where you want to be, make the commitments you have to make to change your life for the better. It is your responsibility to make the changes. I leave you with a quote on point by Gabrielle Giffords. "Mile by mile, it's a trial; yard by yard, it's hard; but inch by inch, it's a cinch."
Just a thought.
