LOSING
I do not believe we ever really lose. Life is all about moving forward. So, if things do not work out the way we expected, move on. Whether life is going as planned or not. You see, life will do what life does. Life goes on no matter what happens. There will be some disappointments but, that is absolutely fine. Because it means you are living. It is all about experiences. You either win or you learn. There is no in-between. You are not defined by things that do not go as planned, unless you allow it. You are defined by how you choose to live your life. I read a statistic once where Babe Ruth, one of the best baseball players in his generation made an out seven out of ten times he went to bat. Think about that for a moment. By all accounts, he failed seven out of ten times. That statistic is a great life lesson. He obviously did not consider the seven times he did not get a hit as a bad thing. In fact, what made him great was that he took those seven times that he did not get a hit as a learning experience so that he got hits the other times. And, he went on to be a prolific home run hitter and one of the best all time players in the annals of baseball history.
You can use all the excuses possible to give up on your goals but, at the end of the day, you are only giving up on yourself. If you are that vulnerable to excuses, then maybe you need to re-evaluate your goals. Maybe, just maybe, they are someone else's goals being adopted as yours. Maybe, you are walking in your parents footsteps instead of yours. You see many examples of that. Especially, when a parent is successful in a career whether it is in the arts, athletics, sciences, etc..., and their children do not have the same level of success in their parent's career choices. Maybe it is because their children are pressured into doing something that they really have no interest in. It has to be the individual's choice not someone else. And, you should never look back because you are supposed to go forward not backwards. Life is not about going in reverse! It is about growing and moving forward. Zig Ziglar stated, "What you get from achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals." So true!! Be honest with yourself. Go get what you want. If the circumstances are not right, create your own. I leave you with a poem on point titled "Challenges."
"It make no difference who you are, your age, your sex, or what you do; And though you may not be a star, you can't avoid not being you. So take a moment, think a bit, you don't know what you're missing til you take the plunge of trying it. And, all that's needed is the will. So when is the last time that you dared to do something not done before? Just view it as adventure fared, to then enjoy the pleasure stored."

Just a thought.
