KOBE
First I send out my condolences to all that have perished in the helicopter crash on January 26, 2020. Nine souls gone too soon but, I believe you never really die. Your body will obviously deteriorate with time. Once your physical presence on earth expires, you transform to where you came from. We all came from somewhere and we're all going somewhere. I believe we all go back to our source. This place of total, pure love. We get merged into what I describe as a universal energy. Your individual energy that some call your soul, others who are religious call it your Christ like or call it whatever you desire. It really doesn't matter how you describe it. Your energy I believe, will always remain even though your body may no longer exist. I remember reading a middle eastern spiritual leader when asked " master what is real? " and his response was " that which never changes. " If you look at your life, your soul is the same that it twenty years ago, or the day you were born. You body may have changed but, your essence will always remain the same.
Now, let us focus on Kobe Bryant. After this tragic incident, some in the media have described him as "bigger than God." Another description was that he was " bigger than man." Sort of in the category of a super human being. Kobe called himself the black mamba. The black mamba is a species of large, extremely venomous snake. Maybe this should tell you something about his personality. Moreover, I believe that individuals that describe Kobe in bigger than god terms are uninspired or unenlightened.
Human death is always tragic. Especially when some of the deceased are children who had so much potential. Children who will not reach their full potential. Children who will never find their bliss. But, we have an obligation to put this in perspective. It appears by all measures that Kobe was a good individual. However, he was no Mother Teresa. In July 2003 he was charged with rapping a young women In Engle, Colorado. If convicted, he would have gone to prison for a very long time. Potentially cutting his NBA career short. He was never suspended from the NBA. In fact, he was welcomed with open arms by the Los Angeles Laker fans. The rape charges we dropped when his accuser, decided not to testify. However, He did settle a civil law suit for an undisclosed amount of money. Kobe Bryan's Rape Case Reexamined by Clay Travis 4/11/2016. In seems that the public holds Kobe in such high regards that they don't want to even consider that he had another unpleasant side.
It has also been publicly reported that Kobe and his wife were very charitable. I believe it's easy to be charitable with your time and money when you're worth 500 million dollars. There are parents working everyday and in some cases two jobs to make ends meet. But, they still find time to coach their children and the general public will never know. There are wives who lose their husbands and the father of their children that in addition to their mourning and tragic loss are wondering where their next meal will come from. The general public will never know about them either.
Kobe was obviously very talented as a professional basketball player. By all accounts he worked very hard to master his craft to get to be one of the best basketball players that ever played in he NBA. But, he was just a person like you and me. In closing, thank you Kobe for all the great basketball memories you gave us. You certainly left to soon. However, you and your daughter were called home to a bigger calling!! I leave you with a quote on point by Kaycee. "The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained."
Just a thought
