Existence
I believe from my gut that the purpose of existence is growth. We all want to be free. Free from physical retrains or from religious or ideological preconceived rules. Prisons are full of examples of physical restraints for individuals that have violated laws. I have first hand experience with people that are incarcerated from my previous career as a police officer and my current career as an attorney. When I go to prisons, I see an abundance of talent that has yet to manifest. Whether you think that prisons are a valid form of deterrence or a necessary tool to punish, is a great discussion to have but, that is not for this article. I see it more from a spiritual perspective. These are individuals that for some reason or another have not used their endowed creative powers to grow. It seems to me unnatural to cage individuals when we are creative beings and, I believe we are all here now to make the world a better place or at least leave it in a better place then when we temporarily inherited it with a life estate. Just think about how you feel when you have been cooped up in your residence for a few days. But, you have the option of going for a walk or fresh air. There are other ways to be imprisoned metaphorically speaking with similar results.
Religion as it is currently places similar restrictions, I believe in growth. I am not antireligion but I am not a religious person. I am a spiritual person. I believe religion in the beginning had the right intension but through the years it has been watered down. Religious leaders today seem to express an across the board consensus that some individuals are born to succeed while others are born to fail. That is a flawed view of religion. We are all created in the image of god. God is pure love. Therefore, how can god create you in his image but on the same breath, destine you to fail? It makes no sense. In fact, religion as it is today has created significant problems and guilt on many. You see, by creating these frivolous ideas, it has solidified the hierarchy's positions of power. They have to create these ideas to keep the people that are struggling in line by assuring them not to worry because their struggles will be rewarded in the afterlife. How else can they justify their power if you are working several jobs to make ends meet and struggling to tithe a percentage of your income to the church while the leaders are wearing thousand dollar suits and living in mansions? Additionally, they have all these archaic rules that create serious guilt on individuals that question them. I can not see god giving to some of his children and not to all. Poverty is unnatural. God never made some individuals poor and others rich. It makes no sense. All you need to figure this out is common sense.
Remember prosperity attracts while poverty repels. So make your choice. I made mine a long time ago. It all goes back to how you perceive your life. The way you think about yourself. As Davis W. Busch says in "Applied Psychology and Scientific Living" "thoughts are things, thoughts are energy, thoughts are magnets which attract to us the very things that we think about. Therefore, by thinking about debt you bring on more debt. Concentrate on the things that you want. Not the things you do not want. Think of abundance of opulence of plenty..."
I leave you with a Shakespeare quote "Our remedies oft in ourselves do lie which we ascribe to heaven."
