FRUIT
My favorite fruit is any type of melon. But, if I had to pick one it would be the watermelon. The melon family, cucurbitaceae, is a plant family commonly known as melons, gourds or cucurbits and includes crops like cucumbers, squashes, including pumpkins, luffas and melons, which includes watermelon. Since I do not eat sugar, by choice, to satisfy my sweet tooth I eat fruits which have natural sugars. I also find that a slice of watermelon or any other fruit in the morning prior to my workout is a great source of energy. In addition, eating fruit can lower your risk of disease. Studies have shown that eating fruit each day will reduce the risk of heart disease by 7%. Another study showed that eating fruits like grapes, apples and blueberries is associated with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes. Now, this is not an article about the benefit of eating fruit. But, for those who know my writing style, I usually start some of my articles leading the reader down a path where they think they know where I'm going then I switch gears. So to stay true to form, this article is about the spiritual aspects of fruit.
I am not a religious person. But, I am spiritual. I am not in any way trying to offend any religious individuals. I am not trying to sell you anything or attempting to indoctrinate you into any organizations. I am just a writer who enjoys sharing my thoughts with the readers. I do believe in God however, the God I believe in is akin to energy - a complete love force. However, not a love associated with any religion. I was born and raised a Catholic but ever since I became an adult and was able to choose and do my own research, I decided that religion was not for me. I probably can be called a deist because of my belief in God but not in religion. I am not a biblical scholar nor do I pretend to be. But, I find the bible a great self help, inspiration literary publication. Although I admit that I have not read it from cover to cover, I have studied many parts but not in any orderly way. I am a strong believer in the power we all possess to live a life of our choosing. However, most individuals do not see it as I do. That is perfectly fine. That is our choice and freedom. We are not clones. I believe that eventually we will all get it and that is when we will start to see amazing changes in our lives. After I "got it," or as some may refer to as enlightenment, my life changed in amazing ways. I can sincerely tell you that I fear nothing in my life. I can also tell you that I live everyday with a connection to my source. I know and expect to succeed in whatever it is that I want to accomplish. I see through my mind in a spiritual way not through my eyes. I have never seen a bump on the road or barrier that I can not walk around. For every single alleged problem you encounter, there is a solution. How would I know that? Because, if there wasn't a solution you wouldn't be here reading my article. Part of my belief is that this universal source or energy or some may call Jesus or Christ like or Allah or call it whatever you want to call it, is part part of everyone of us. What you call this source doesn't matter. What matters is that we all have it. We came from this source and we will one day be going back to this source. In scripture it states that when Jesus was being stoned for blasphemy for saying he was God he stated, "did I not say you are all gods?" We all have this power within but, the majority of individuals do not use it. I do not believe I am better than you or anyone else. I believe, I am you and you are me. We are all connected. How I treat you or the environment in essence, is how I treat myself because we are all one. It is easy to see who is living an enlightened life. In scripture it states, and I am paraphrasing, "you don't judge a tree by the name it wears, you judge a tree by the fruit it bears." The fruit we should all strive to bear is love. Love will lead you to happiness which will lead you to wherever you want to go. I leave you with a quote on point. "Knowing others is wisdom. Knowing yourself is enlightenment." Author unknown.
Just a thought.
