ECONOMICS
Economics is the study of the production, consumption, and the transfer of wealth. In the word economics, you see the words "con," and "mi," (sic). Can it truly be a con job? Before I start today's article on economics I must first start with a caveat emptor. And, for those who don't know this Latin phrase, it means, "Let the buyer beware." That is that I am not an economist. I do not have any specialized training in economics. I am not employed in the business of economics. In fact, I don't even have a degree or hold any certificates or any kind of training in economics. But, what I do have is "common sense!" Currently in the United States, there is a push to dismantle or reform our system of economics. America's system of economics goes back to John Locke, who worked within the idea of individual rights, liberty, property and the pursuit of happiness. The idea of free markets, capitalism and limited government was the product of the enlightenment of the 18th century. Fast forward to today where there seems to be a push to abandon our underlying principles rooted in a free market system. Although, I am a firm believer in dynamic energy to continue to grow and change to meet demands, as opposed to static energy which is standing still and therefore, doomed to fail, I believe that those who want change have it all wrong.
I believe that institutions were not and are not created for the average person. The three most powerful institutions; government, religion and, corporations were not created for the common or average person. They may have started off with the right ideas but, they have evolved into multibillion dollar industries. Let's take religion for a moment, in the beginning their heart may have been in the right place but today it is a money machine. Just look around at religious leaders today and their net worth. All denominations are included. In the catholic denomination for example, the Pope, Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, and Nuns, all take a vow of indigency but, it is all an illusion because, all of their needs are taken care of. The Pope lives in a palace with servants. Cardinals, Bishops, Priest, and Nuns live in properties that in some cases are unaffordable for the average person and the envy of the world. Governments are the same. All politicians receive tax payor funded salaries with the best health insurance and benefits. Their most important concerns are getting re-elected. Not whether you can make your rent payment. Corporations are no different. There number one concern is to their stakeholders. In other words money.
All 195 countries in the world today are the same. However, it is not all doom and gloom. Why I believe most individuals have it all wrong in the "change movement" is because we "the people," have all the power. We may not think so with all the fear and negativity being spewed around like sand on Miami beach but, it is true. We have all succumbed to being treated like herds. Any of the aforementioned institutions throw us a bone once in awhile to keep us above water and we acquiesce. But, in really it is all on us, individually to change not them. We have the power to change our lives. I am not saying to rebel or revolt against the current system. But, what I am saying is that you, we, the people, have an obligation to live a full, creative, significant life. Regarding the three aforementioned institutions, they are not the problem. The real problem is us. We have to wake up to the understanding and knowledge that we are all powerful, spiritual beings and creators by nature. We do not have to depend on institutions to water our god given seeds of success. We are a law abiding society but if you don't like the powers that we have seeded to our government, we can vote or run for office to change it. Regarding religion, I don't remember reading anywhere that we need religion to tell us how to morally live our lives. If you are a person of faith, you can practice your faith without the confines of religion telling us where or when you can. Regarding corporations, we have more power than we think. We are the ones that purchase their products. We have the power of the purse. And, we can create our own companies. Throughout human history, the aforementioned institutions have let the average person down "ALL" the time. We do not need to be "Woke." We need to "Wake Up!" Start living the life we are here to live. No one has power over you unless you forfeit your god given powers. So, to all who want changes, start with yourselves and everything else will follow. I leave you with a quote on point by Rob Siltanen.
"People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do."
Just a thought.
