DECISIONS
It's estimated that the average adult makes about 35,000 remotely conscious decisions each day. Decisions are part of our way of life. As Americans, we are free to make decisions that others living abroad may not have. We are so imbedded in our freedom to decide that many take them for granted as in the decision to vote. We look at our free market system and expect many choices. Researchers at Cornell University estimate we make 226.7 decisions each day on food alone. This is insane! Not necessarily insane in the aforementioned but, in how we take our lives and the freedom of choices, that we all have for granted. You get up in the morning and decide what you're having for breakfast, how and when to drink your coffee, when to shower, what to wear for work, if you're going to work, what road to take if you're driving to work, what time to leave, which elevator to take to get to your office, what projects to work on first, what to have for lunch, what to have for dinner, what to do in the evening, where to go shopping, where to plan your vacation, what dates to go on vacation, what type of sneakers to buy, what gym to join, what type of workout to do, when to workout, what time to go to bed, who to marry, whether to have children, where to raise your family, what schools to attend, etc... I suspect you get the picture.
Behind your decisions are thoughts. We can all agree, decisions cannot be made if you do not think about them. Some will make emotional decisions or decisions based on instincts. Others will make decisions after a long drawn out logical analysis. I believe individuals make decisions using all of the above. Emotions, I believe, play a significant role in a spiritual way because it draws all your attention and feelings about something that you desire deeply. If you believe, as I do, that your thoughts are very powerful in manifesting the life of your dreams, then the emotional component is very important to stimulate your subconscious towards those desires. Some times following your instincts or intuition, is a built in safety alert to warn you about an impending danger. I remember many times in my life following my instincts and on every occasion, I made the right decision. Whichever way you decide to make a decision, there really is not a wrong way or right way. This is because I believe that regardless of the outcome, it can only make you smarter, better and wiser. And, you can pass these experiences on. So, either way there is a benefit. When I have a decision that I need to make that I'm unsure about, I meditate or sleep on it and I can honestly tell you that I always make the so called right decision. I say right decision loosely, because I don't believe there is ever a wrong decision. I always tap into divine guidance. We all have this divine guidance within. It is part of who we are as spiritual beings. Even though it is there for all of us to use, free of charge, most individuals rather be guided either, by their senses or by others. The internal powers to be will "NEVER" disappoint you, while external influence always have a potential for disappointing you. Once you make a decision, let it go. It is out of your control. Let the powers to be or the universe take over. Trust that it was the "right" decision. I leave you with an article by Deepak Chopra on decisions.
"If you obsess on whether you are making the right decision, you are basically assuming that the universe will reward you for one thing and punish you for another. The universe has no fixed agenda. Once you make any decision, it works around that decision. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling and action that you experience. If this sounds too mystical, refer again to the body. Every significant vital sign, body temperature, heart rate, oxygen consumption, hormone level, brain activity and so on, alters the moment you decide to do anything. Decisions are signals telling your body, mind and environment to move in a certain direction."
Just a thought.
