BLING
Expensive, ostentatious clothing and jewelry, or the wearing of them. Being a student of life, got me thinking about bling and life. I love writing inspirational ideas to coach individuals in opening up their minds toward a fabulous life. This is my calling and my love. When I decide on an article it usually just comes to me. Bling invokes a vision of glider, energy and life. That is the true meaning of life. We have all been around people where their energy radiates and, at least while in their presence it moves us to a different plane. I have been told often that people want to be around me and be like me; that I am magnetic. Quiet frankly, I rather they not be like me but, instead be themselves. But, if I can help them reach their potential it would be inspiring to me. When a loved one gives me a compliment, I take it with a grain of salt because they love me so, their interpretation may be over blown. I'm am not saying that they are lying but they are biased in my favor. They may be evaluating half the picture. Now, when strangers with no reason, give you a compliment, that is a different story. Although, I strongly believe that someone's opinion of me is not important as compared to my own opinion of myself, we do live as part of a society. So in reality someone else's opinion may not matter but, how we react to it is crucial, and we can absolutely control our reactions. I remember running for judge several years ago and there were three guest speakers on a stage including myself. The audience consisted of approximately 500 potential voters. I was second in line to speak. The only thing I remember about the first speaker was that he practically put me to sleep. He sounded like he was giving a somber speech at a funeral. I followed with my speech and the 3rd speaker, a nationally know senator followed with his speech. He started off his speech by saying that he wasn't sure if he could top my speech. In fact, he was so impressed that a few weeks later, I received a campaign contribution in the form of a personal check. I had never run for any political office and, I did not personally know the senator who complimented me and made the contribution.
The flip side as briefly aforementioned are the individuals who suck the energy out of the room like a vacuum cleaner sucking up the dust off the rug. I remember many years ago an incident where I was at my son's baseball game and a person showed up unexpectedly. I always stayed away from this person because to say that she is a negative person is actually being kind to her. One of the best things that you can ever do for your happiness and longevity is dispose or limit any contact with negative people. So on this occasion, this person just appeared as if she was beamed down from some cold, dark, distant planet, potentially, Uranus. Humor!! I was sitting next to a dear friend and he saw that I turned pale and expressionless. This is a true but, extreme example of being in close proximity with negative energy. Emotionally and physically there can be drastic implications. So, how does this all tie into my bling article? Since bling has loud, boisterous, shiny ostentatious connotation, wouldn't it be better if you chose a bling life rather than a dull static stale life? Do you want to live a life that is a beacon of light and energy than a life that is barely alive or just existing? Akin to a AA battery charged, pocket flashlight, with a limit on the amount of energy it can produce? To me the choice is clear. I have chosen to live a life that is loud, bright, full of energy and "bling." And, when I say bling, I don't' mean literally wearing diamonds on capped front yellow gold teeth. We all have an opportunity to live our lives full of energy and life. That should be the ultimate pursuit in life. To live totally in abundance and happiness. Walk through life full of energy and brightness and if others do not like it, they can wear dark shades. I leave you with a quote on point by, Ron Baratono.
