TRINITY

I recently received a text from my brother reminding me to light a candle for my mother on her birthday who had passed away 5 years prior.  I reminded him that this was a religious habit  and that I was not  a religious person, although, I am spiritual.  I went on to tell him that our mother's energy/soul is infinite and eternal and that she does not need a candle.  Listen, I love candles but not for the purpose my brother mentioned.  I am not attempting to offend anyone who participates in organized religion.  To me, I believe having faith in a religion can be good for some.  However, religion was not for me.  I was born and raised a Catholic so I can say that I have been there and done that but, it is just not for me.  To me religion was  and is more of a burden with all the rules and expectation of compliance.   I have never been a follower or a person who complies just because.  So, I started thinking of one aspect of religion, in particular, the trinity that Christians in general and, Catholics specifically believe in.  It is a belief that god exists as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  I am not here to give the reader a religious briefing.  Especially at this time of the year where Christmas is a few weeks away.  I am also, not a biblical scholar.  Although, I believe the bible, of which I read from time to time is an amazing historical and inspiring literary creation.  The trinity that I believe in, I will define as the mind, soul and body.  I authored and publishes a book titled "The Law Of 4," which emphasize the importance of a balance life in what I describe the 4 pillars of life,  that being, health, wealth, love and gratitude.  Hence, the title.
In my definition of the trinity, consisting of the mind, soul and body, the same balancing of the aforementioned principles apply.  Our mind, soul and body are all one.  In other words, our trinity is related to all its parts equally.  And the one commodity that enhances the trinity, whether you believe it or not is money.  And, please let me explain.  I can best describe it, that the universal power, or god, or energy or soul, or call it whatever you desire, is in us to experience life.  Therefore, it needs our bodies to be able to experience all aspects of life.  In order to do this, you need to be in a position to provide this immense desire within to grow and experience life to its fullest.  In order to do this you need to have money to do the things you want to do.  I am not saying that you need to consume yourself only with making money and neglect everything else in your life.  But, what I am saying is that you need to balance your life so that you can provide the experiences that you desire to fulfill your inner seed of growth and creation.  We are all here to grow and create.  If you do not believe this, ask yourself a few simple questions.  What happens when you stop growing in life?  What happens when a plant stops growing?  What happens when you lose the desire to stop growing which is synonymous with living?  Therefore, the mind and body, which to me is part of the trinity, also need money to be in peek working order.  By having money, you gain peace of mind.  You can also stimulate the mind by traveling, reading, or experiencing the arts or literature.  These stimulants need money to participate in most if not all the aforementioned activities. Your body, the physical structure that houses your mind and soul, need to be maintained through nutrition, exercise and medical attention.  It takes money to maintain the body.  It is no secret that individuals that have enough money, have better, nutritional habits, have better access to exercise and medical care.  I am not saying we should all be rich.  However, we should all strive to make enough money to be able to keep our personal trinity nourished and in balance.  The amount of money we need is personal to each one of us.  My suggestion is, not to sell yourself short.  And one quick note before I conclude.  The god within all of us is pure love.  I am closest to my source when I am able to give. Whether it's giving to my wife, children or strangers.  To me, giving from the heart is pure love.  It is what makes me the happiest.  However, in order to give you need to have whatever it is you wish to give.  The crux of giving is having enough money to be in a position to give.  Now, you can say well, I can give my time which does not need money. But, if you really think about it, time is money.  So there you have it, the Jay Perez trinity.  Mind, Soul and Body.  Your main purpose in life is to balance your trinity equally and provide for its existence and experiences.  I leave you with a quote on point by Erich Fromm, "Not he who has much is rich, but he who gives much."
