EXAM
I was thinking, as I always do about life. And, it dawned on me how life is a collection of exams. As soon as an infant is out of the womb, he is examined by doctors and nurses. In fact, we can back up to the gestation phase when the baby grows and develops in the mother's womb when the baby goes through a series of exams. As aforementioned, once the baby is born, it is given a series of exams to determine its health. A common exam is the Apgar score exam. This is to determine the baby's appearance, pulse, grimace activity, and respiration, hence the name, "Apgar." It is usually given at one minute after birth and again a 5 minutes after birth. Once the baby gets older, it is examined many times by a pediatrician. At the preschool level, the child is constantly examined for cognitive skills. At the elementary school phase the child is constantly tested for its learning skills. In fact, if the child does not make sufficient progress, it will risk the possibility of repeating a grade. But, I am sure there is a mechanism for a re-test before drastic decisions have to be made. At the high school level, the same rules apply. Students are constantly tested before they can advance. This is all in addition to all sorts of physical and medical exams that are required by the schools. If the student is of age to play school sponsored sports, guess what? Yes, you nailed it! The student gets evaluated (tested) by their coaches to determine if they are worthy enough to make the team.
In college, the same rules apply. There is a college admission test in order to be allowed to pay for the privilege to attend the college of your choice. In order to advance and graduate, students are constantly examined. Graduate school, law school, medical school etc..., the same rules of exams/testing apply. In post school, adult phase of a person's life, more exams to advance to the next level or phase of life. In the employment, professional phase of a person's life, more exams. Whether it's a promotion or an acquisition, individuals are constantly examined prior to moving on. In a person's personal life, there are another series of exams that must be passed in order to advance. This of course are all in addition to all the medical exams that are necessary in all phases of life. In the senior or golden years of a person's life the same exam rules apply. And to top it off before a person passes in life, they have to be examined by a medical person and pronounced dead before they can rest in peace. Just a bit of sarcasm with a touch of humor.
I believe, that most individuals live a mere existence because unlike the aforementioned exams, that we all go through in life, individuals do not get to re-take their final exam. At the end of a person's existence on earth, there is no redo. It is what it is. So knowing this, why not live a constructive, loving, happy life? In a spiritual sense, life is a series of exams, and, you have to pass them in order to move on. If you don't address why you have failed in a certain aspect of your life, examine your life. If you don't, you will continue to make the same mistakes until you figure it out. This is why, for example, a spouse leaves an abusive, alcoholic only to end up with a similar relationship. If you don't change yourself and accept responsibility for attracting that relationship, you will continue to attract the same. A physical life when compared to infinite existence is ephemeral. So why waste it? Make the best out of it. You are here for a reason. Finding out your reason or purpose in life, at least to me is very simple. We are all loving creators by nature. Therefore, use your natural endowed gifts to make your world, and in essence, the world in general, a better place. I leave you with the following quote on point. "Many people fail because they try to follow others, not realizing that everyone has a different exam." Author unknow.
Just a thought.
