AMBITION
Ambition is defined as, a strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination or hard work. As you read this article, ask yourself how come I am where I currently am? If you're honest with yourself, the answer for every single person should be one of two possibilities. Either you have ambition or, you lack ambition. Either way it is all on you. If you have accomplished what you have desired, you have ambition. If you feel like nothing has gone your way, you need to change your thinking. All around us there is a universal mind of which it is very impressionable. This is ours to use. No strings attached. Before you go to bed at night impress upon this universal mind what it really is that you want to accomplish. It can be anything, small or large. Right when you are dozing off before you fall asleep have that request or vision on your conscious mind. Then once you are asleep, your subconscious takes over and starts molding your desires.
The mistake many make is that they give up too soon if they do not see immediate results. You need to have faith. And, you need to put yourself out. In other words, do something towards what ever it is you want. You should not just sit around doing nothing and expecting to be a millionaire if that is what you wish. You might ask, How is this possible when I am flipping burgers at McDonald's? I am here to tell you it is possible. In fact, not just possible but probable. Let me show you how. You are flipping burgers with a huge smile. You are always on time. You seldom call off. You are a helpful teammate. You ooze positive energy. The owner takes notice. You constantly get promoted. You become the owner's right hand person. Lo and behold you become a franchise owner. And, you do not stop there. You go on to own several other franchises. Not bad for a hamburger flipper. Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy's wrote in his high school year book that he wanted to flip burgers. He had a vision. And look at what he accomplished. It all starts with your mind. Ambition!!
Another piece of this painting which is your life is that you need to have a goal or a target. Quite frankly how can you hit a target or goal if you do not have one? I bet any one that reads this article that I can make you a better free throw shooter than Lebron James in five minutes - as long as I blindfold Lebron and spin him around a few times. Even a skilled basketball player needs to have a target to shoot at or he will fail. Therefore, set your goals and do something everyday towards your goals. I am starting with the premise that your goal will serve others. That is how you accomplish what ever it is you want. If it is money, you get money from people. How do you get money from people? You provide a product or service that will benefit them. That is how it works. People will pay you for a "thing" that will benefit them. This is common sense. Look around at everything that you paid money for. I guarantee you, it is something you needed or wanted. You can not merely ask selfishly for money and expect to get it. Those are the beggars on the street corner. There is no way to get around this. Our prisons are full of scammers who have tried to circumvent the rule on how to obtain money.
Always remain focused on your goal. Bumps will come but, they will only make you stronger. Remain ambitious and never stop. I am reminded of the "Acres of Diamond" article by Earl Nightingale. In a nutshell, A farmer sold his farm in search of diamond mines. He gave up digging on his farm. Only to find out that the person who purchased his farm continued digging and discovered one of the most productive diamond mines in the African continent. Sometimes it is right in front of you but we fail to see it. Stay focused. Stay ambitious and you will discover your diamonds. Regardless of what it is you set your sights on, you will get it. Whatever the mind can conceive it will achieve. This is why before you doze of at night you must impress upon you subconscious mind exactly what you desire. I leave you with a quote on point by Yoshida Kenko. "Ambition never comes to an end."
